One Nation, One King
My original thought, as I was leaving this second film of the Festival day was the massive scale of costume and set that this film effectively took on, constantly and throughout. The costumes and setting never allowed to viewer to even contemplate that this action happened any other time than late 19th century.
The story itself was, basically, a lecture leading to the execution of Louis XVI, which was news to me, so a well needed 2 hours for myself and my understanding of France. The acting was great and the cinematography was impressive.
